Vimotek has appointed Jens Lundström as Chief Executive Officer, strengthening the company’s leadership as it prepares for in-orbit demonstrations, commercial missions and continued growth across European civil and defence space.

Jens joins Vimotek after more than a decade leading Arctic Business, working closely with many of Sweden’s leading deep-tech and space companies and entrepreneurs. His background also spans deep-tech startups, international business, board and advisory roles, as well as experience from the Swedish Armed Forces. Most recently, he spent a year in Palo Alto as a Senior Wallenberg Fellow at Nordic Innovation House, Stanford, focused on innovation, space and defence between Sweden and the US.

Spacecraft increasingly need to operate near, understand and respond to other objects in orbit. Vimotek has built a unique combination of mission-specific digital twins and onboard sensing and perception to address both planned and unexpected spacecraft encounters. I have followed the company for several years and am excited to now join the team and help take these capabilities into orbit and commercial missions.

Jens Lundström, CEO, Vimotek

Jens succeeds Vimotek founder Anatoliy Valentirov, who becomes Chief Strategy Officer and Chairman of the Board. Anatoliy will continue to shape the company’s strategic direction, product vision and partnerships.

Jens and I have known each other and worked together for many years, and he has advised both me and Vimotek along the way. Bringing him onboard as CEO is a natural next step as we strengthen the leadership team for Vimotek’s next phase. He brings highly relevant experience from building companies, international business and the space sector, and I look forward to continuing to grow Vimotek together with Jens.

About Vimotek:

Vimotek is a European space technology company helping operators turn spacecraft encounters into controlled, predictable outcomes. The company connects mission-specific digital twins with onboard sensing and perception to help operators validate and rehearse before and during operations, execute precise proximity operations and manage proximity events in orbit.

Founded in 2022, Vimotek today has offices in Luleå, Skellefteå and Stockholm and has secured €6.5 million in institutional funding. The company develops technology that helps operators master spacecraft encounters; from planned proximity operations such as rendezvous, inspection, docking and servicing to unexpected proximity events in orbit. Vimotek connects mission-specific digital twins with onboard sensing and perception so operators can validate and rehearse before and during operations, execute precise proximity operations and manage proximity events.

Vimotek’s portfolio includes Orbittwin, its mission-specific digital twin platform; Navcam, onboard perception for precise proximity operations; and Sentinel, onboard space situational awareness and assessment for proximity events. Together, the products support validation, rehearsal and precise execution while strengthening mission assurance and resilience.
